1. About this policy
This policy explains how Pawzzy uses cookies and similar technologies — including local storage, session storage and pixels — on our app and website. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
We set non-essential storage only where you have given consent, in line with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and UK GDPR.
2. What these technologies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. Local and session storage work similarly but hold data in your browser rather than sending it with every request. Pixels are tiny images or scripts that record that a page or email was opened.
First-party items are set by Pawzzy. Third-party items are set by another organisation, such as an analytics or affiliate provider.
3. Strictly necessary (always on)
Purpose: keeping you signed in, remembering your session, load balancing, and protecting against fraud and abuse.
Examples: pawzzy-state (your account session and profile), security and rate-limiting tokens.
Lifespan: session to 12 months.
These cannot be switched off in the app because the service will not function without them. You can still block them in your browser, but you will be signed out and features will break.
4. Functional (consent-based)
Purpose: remembering your saved stores, revealed codes, filters, notification choices and interface preferences so you do not have to set them again.
Lifespan: up to 12 months.
If you decline these, the app still works but will forget your preferences between visits.
5. Analytics and performance (consent-based)
Purpose: understanding which offers, categories and screens are used, measuring crashes and load times, and improving the product.
Data collected: pseudonymous identifiers, page and event names, device and browser type, approximate region derived from a truncated IP address.
Lifespan: up to 13 months. We do not use analytics data to target advertising.
6. Affiliate and attribution (consent-based)
Purpose: when you click through to a partner brand, an affiliate network may set a cookie so the referral can be attributed to Pawzzy and any commission paid.
Data collected: a click identifier, timestamp and offer reference. It does not include your name or email.
Lifespan: typically 7 to 30 days, set by the network rather than by us.
7. Managing your choices
In-app: use the cookie preferences link in Help & Support and Notification Preferences to change consent at any time. Withdrawal is as easy as giving consent and takes effect immediately for future processing.
In your browser or phone: you can block or delete cookies and clear site data in your settings. Doing so signs you out of Pawzzy and resets your saved stores and used codes on that device.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals are respected for non-essential storage where your browser sends them.
8. Third parties we may rely on
Hosting and content delivery, product analytics, error monitoring, email delivery and affiliate networks. Each is contractually restricted to processing data on our instructions, and their own notices govern any cookies they set directly. We keep an internal register of active providers and will supply the current list on request.
9. Preview build notice
This interactive preview sets no third-party cookies. It uses only first-party local storage on your device to hold your demo profile, pets, saved stores and revealed codes. Clearing browser data removes it all.
10. Changes and contact
